OMB Mediation Update: The fight continues for suitable scale and better design at 1327 Queen E.

Hello everyone – hope you’re having a great Pan Am summer.  The LCC has been active but unable to let you know all that we’ve been doing due to confidentiality issues.  The short version is that the board members attended two mediation sessions with our lawyer at the OMB in July. It was not successful – that’s all we are at liberty to say, but we intend to continue to engage with the developer via both our lawyer and theirs.

Because the mediation wasn’t successful our next step will be the hearing in January.  This entails a stronger focus on fundraising by the LCC.  You can financially support the LCC’s efforts by clicking the button
we have activated on the blog http://www.leslievillecommunity.ca/2014/09/etcc-steering-committee-summary.html  We need to raise thousands of dollars more to cover legal costs so that we can represent the views of the community at the OMB.  Please help our efforts by sharing this message through your personal networks.

LCC member Tim Kirkwood has condensed the City of Toronto’s videotaped April 24th roundtable discussion on  Mid-Rise Buildings: Growing Toronto's Neighbourhoods* into a highly watchable and very informative 34 minute highlight version.  If you have the time it’s very much worth the watch.

Lawn signs are still available at Gadabout – 1300 Queen East for a small donation.    As we get any sharable news we’ll post it on the site. Thanks for your support.
